Haas does have quick code cenversational option so that shouldn't be an absolute advantage to hurco. My purchasing department recently made a mistake and purchased two Hurco VM-20s. I have 40 Haas VF2-SS’s and a few larger Haas mills and lathes. Sincehaas vs hurco cnc I've ran HAAS's VF-2 and VF-4 machines in the past, and I would say Hurco has the edge over HAAS when it comes to rigidity. The HAAS's VF series just don't have what it takes when you push them hard in harder materials like steel and tool steel, and it seems it the tools like to stick in the spindles more often too. Would you choose a Hurco or Fadal VMC? Any control can be learned. A machine is just a machine. If the price is right, and the machine is tight, I'd make money with any of 'em. But I like my VF3 and the Haas control would be the standard against which I judge the convenience of the rest of 'em. The Fadal and Haas have more traditional hard wired, firmware based, propraitery controls, and are much more stable (rock solid in fact) in my experience. Since your going to be modelling in Inventor, and programming in Gibbs, I can't really see how the conversational programming of the Hurco will really buy you much.
